Without a doubt one of the best indian halal restaurants in Portland! Seemed like a place which has just opened...but nevertheless the food is amazing! And not to forget the quantity as well!
You get complimentary rice with any curry.
They also cater to your special requirements regarding spice level and all.
So if you are in portland and u want to have some real good indian, halal food then this is the place to go! -

For $14, I would expect the chana masala to be mind-blowing, but it was certifiably "meh."

My Indian friend, Naren, certainly knows good Indian cuisine and now I know what he knows --- this place is authentically delicious! Locally sourced fresh ingredients, no GMO, vegetarian and meat dishes cooked with organic oils, and importantly all cooked from scratch by chef / owner (and staff) passing on recipes served over generations.
Authentic! Delicious! Presented and served in a casual, contemporary and convivial setting. For lunch we went with 2 combo meals, each with 2 main dishes --- so we tried Channa Masala (garbanzo beans), Saag Paneer (spinach), Daal (red lentils) --- cooked with onion, garlic and ginger --- and Chicken Curry (the best in PDX) --- and all dishes cooked with flavorful spices. And the chef can take it up a notch with spices if you like it that way. Oh, be sure to have the Naan bread.
This place is bookmarked as my favorite Indian cuisine! "Dhanyavaad" (thank-you) Open Tandoor! -

Beautifully cooked fragrant Indian food, great quality and flavors. The meat is locally sourced. The naan and other sides are delicious. Free chai while you wait.

This is one of my go to Indian spots. My husband and I split the paneer makhani with naan and it is literally amazing. It's not as sweet as other Indian restaurants and has a unique taste, which is why I love it. The huge pieces of naan are delicious too. We recently tried the veggie pakoras and they were soooo good, nice and crispy! Dipping sauces are yummy too. Go here for authentic Indian food!
